Proposal title: 07_0030 Tallawarra Open Cycle Gas Peaking Plant
Description: TRUenergy Tallawarra Pty Ltd proposes to construct and operate an Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) Plant at Yallah, in land adjacent to the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station currently under construction on the shores of Lake Illawarra. The OCGT Plant would have a notional capacity of up to 450 MW and would comprise 2 to 3 gas turbines. It would operate to supply electricity during periods of peak demand or system emergency situations. Other project components include high voltage switchyard comprising high voltage transformers and switchgear, transmission line connection to the existing 132 kV network, connecting gas pipelines to the Eastern Gas Pipeline including a gas receiving station and gas conditioning station, distillate storage tank and unloading station, demineralised water tank, and an emergency diesel generator.

Proposal title: Proposed Ore Preparation Plant Upgrade, BlueScope
Steelworks, Port Kembla. (Application: 06_0229)
Description: Upgrade and increase in the production capacity of the Sinter Plant from 5.5 million tonnes to 6.6 million tonnes per annum. The upgrade to the Sinter Plant includes:
construction of new infrastructure to improve the efficiency of operations, including: installation of new strand feeding technology; installation of a new ignition furnace; lengthening and deepening of the sinter strand and modification of structural components of the strand;
repair and refurbishing of equipment such as waste gas precipator shells and internals; room de-dusting and associated duct work; wind boxes; and waste gas mains and attached dust hoppers;
rebuilding of Sinter Cooler and modification to the three existing 1.25MW cooler fans;
extension of Sinter Plant building by approximately 14m at the Sinter Cooler end; and
works within the Raw Materials Handling Area to increase the fines handling and storage capacity. Works to be undertaken include: construction of seven new conveyors, installation of a new shuttle conveyor, rebuilding of a Conveyor House and other minor maintenance works.
